Why DFW is Naturally Hard+
Source water comes primarily from surface lakes (Lavon, Lewisville, Ray Hubbard) where regional limestone geology contributes calcium and magnesium. Result: Many homes experience 'hard' to 'very hard' water (often 8-18 GPG).
Why DFW Water Feels Harder Than It Used To+
Drought conditions can raise mineral concentration in surface water by reducing dilution in reservoirs. In North Texas, this can result in periodic increases in hardness (calcium and magnesium), especially during extended dry cycles.
Why Tap Water Has a Chemical Taste or Smell+
